SUMMARY
We are seeking Estimators to produce accurate, competitive tenders for construction projects across London. You will analyse drawings and specifications, gather subcontractor pricing and help win the work that drives your employer’s growth.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review tender documents, drawings and specifications
• Carry out take-offs and quantity measurement
• Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Prepare detailed estimates, build-ups and tender submissions
• Identify risks, assumptions and exclusions in tenders
• Attend tender interviews and clarification meetings
• Maintain databases of rates, suppliers and subcontractors
• Support value engineering and hand over successful tenders to delivery teams

IDEAL CANDIDATE
• 3+ years’ estimating experience in construction
• Experience on commercial, residential or fit-out projects
• Strong grasp of construction methods and materials
• Able to manage several live bids to tight deadlines
• Confident negotiating with subcontractors
• Accurate, with strong attention to detail
• Commercially aware, with sound judgement on risk
• Full right to work in the UK

QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
• Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying, Construction or Engineering (essential)
• Membership of CIOB or RICS (desirable)
• Valid CSCS card
• SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable)
• Working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015
• Understanding of two-stage tendering
• Evidence of ongoing CPD
• Full UK driving licence (desirable)

KEY SKILLS & TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
• Take-off and measurement
• Estimating software such as CATO, CostX or Bluebeam
• Advanced Excel and rate build-ups
• Subcontractor enquiry and tender analysis
• JCT and NEC tender documentation
• Preliminaries and risk pricing
• Value engineering
• Tender programme and method statement input
