What cookies do
Cookies are small pieces of information a website stores in your browser. Session cookies normally end when you close the browser; persistent cookies remain until their expiry or until you delete them. Browser storage can perform similar functions.
Technologies used by this website
- WordPress account cookies: when you use sign-in or an authorised account, WordPress uses cookies such as wordpress_test_cookie, wordpress_logged_in_* and wordpress_sec_* to check cookie support and maintain authentication. These are not needed simply to read public pages. Login duration depends on the account session and whether you choose to remain signed in.
- Internal package and cart functions: WooCommerce may use woocommerce_items_in_cart, woocommerce_cart_hash and wp_woocommerce_session_* when a package/cart journey is used. Cart cookies generally last for the session; the WooCommerce session normally lasts up to two days. These support the requested transaction rather than advertising.
- Spam protection: relevant forms use Google reCAPTCHA, which processes device, network and interaction information to distinguish genuine requests from automated abuse. Google identifies _GRECAPTCHA as a security cookie used for risk analysis. Its expiry is set by Google. The service may involve processing outside the UK. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. If you prefer not to use a protected form, you can contact us by email or telephone.
- Site operation: hosting and security services process request information to serve pages and protect the service. Our administrative outcome dashboard uses daily aggregate totals of form records and mail handoffs; those counters do not store visitor identifiers or set analytics cookies.
Analytics, advertising and external links
We do not run an advertising pixel or third-party audience analytics service on the public recruitment pages. With your permission, our own website counts page visits, job views, searches, form starts, Apply opens and email or telephone clicks by broad source, campaign and sector. No search terms, full referring URLs, names, CVs, contact details or unique visitor identifiers are included in this measurement. A click does not mean an application was completed.
Optional source cookie: bm_measure_source stores only fixed source, campaign and sector labels for 30 minutes, after you select Allow measurement. It keeps the first source within that period so we can understand which routes lead to enquiries. It is not used for advertising, individual profiling or cross-site tracking. Unknown campaign values are grouped rather than stored verbatim.
Privacy-choice cookie: bm_measure_choice remembers Allow measurement or No thanks for 90 days. It is used only to respect your choice. Optional measurement stays off until you allow it. Use Measurement choices at the foot of any public page to change your choice; selecting No thanks deletes the source cookie and stops further optional events. Previously collected totals cannot be linked back to you.
Daily aggregate totals are retained for a rolling 30 days and removed on the next measurement event or dashboard review. Successful contact-form handoffs and new application records are also counted operationally, including without optional measurement; in that case no source is assigned. Standard hosting request logs and the underlying recruitment records are separate and covered by our privacy notice. Necessary account, transaction and security technologies are used only for their relevant functions.
Map and social-sharing links take you to external providers only when you follow them. Those websites apply their own privacy and cookie choices. Links in this notice do not mean you must agree to unrelated tracking to browse our website.
Your controls
You can inspect, block or delete cookies using your browser’s privacy settings, including blocking third-party cookies. Blocking necessary cookies can prevent sign-in, package functions or spam-protected forms from working. You can still contact us at info@blackmountrecruitment.com or 07530 192888.
