Architectural Technologist

Job Reference: BM-DES-014

SUMMARY
Architectural Technologists bridge design intent and technical delivery. You will produce detailed construction information and make sure designs are buildable, compliant and well coordinated, particularly through RIBA Stages 4 and 5.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Produce detailed technical drawings and specifications
• Develop construction details, junctions and build-ups
• Prepare Building Regulations submissions
• Coordinate with consultants and update BIM models
• Support planning applications and design development
• Review contractor queries and shop drawings
• Carry out site visits and design inspections
• Maintain drawing registers and document control

IDEAL CANDIDATE
• 3+ years’ experience in technical design on London projects
• Strong understanding of construction detailing
• Experience coordinating with structural and MEP consultants
• Good knowledge of materials, façades and building envelope design
• Strong attention to detail
• Clear communicator who works well in teams
• Comfortable dealing with contractors on site
• Full right to work in the UK

QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
• Degree in Architectural Technology or similar (essential)
• MCIAT or working towards chartership (desirable)
• Knowledge of Part B, Part L and Part M of the Building Regulations
• Awareness of the Building Safety Act and gateway requirements
• Valid CSCS card (desirable)
• Evidence of ongoing CPD
• Portfolio of technical packages
• Full UK driving licence (desirable)

• Revit to a high standard
• AutoCAD
• RIBA Stage 4 and 5 technical design
• Building Regulations and fire strategy awareness
• Façade and envelope detailing
• BIM coordination in Navisworks
• Specification writing (NBS)
• Drawing and document control
