Structural Engineer

SUMMARY
We are recruiting Structural Engineers to design safe, efficient structures for projects across London. You will work with architects, contractors and clients on everything from residential developments to complex commercial refurbishments.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Carry out structural analysis and design for buildings and structures
• Prepare calculations, drawings and design reports
• Design in steel, concrete, timber and masonry
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers and contractors
• Inspect sites and review construction against design
• Respond to RFIs and technical queries
• Support Building Regulations and planning submissions
• Support value engineering and mentor graduate engineers

IDEAL CANDIDATE
• 3+ years’ structural design experience on UK buildings
• Strong technical problem-solving skills
• Good concrete and steel design knowledge
• Comfortable with refurbishment and retrofit projects
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Keen to progress towards chartership
• Able to manage workloads across several projects
• Full right to work in the UK

QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (essential)
• CEng MIStructE or MICE, or working towards chartership
• Knowledge of Eurocodes and UK standards
• Temporary works awareness
• Valid CSCS card (desirable)
• Awareness of the Building Safety Act
• Evidence of ongoing CPD
• Full UK driving licence (desirable)

KEY SKILLS & TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
• Structural analysis software such as Oasys, ETABS or Robot
• Revit and AutoCAD
• Tekla (desirable)
• Concrete, steel and timber design
• Retrofit and refurbishment assessment
• Basement and temporary works design
• Calculation and report writing
• BIM coordination
