Commissioning Engineer

SUMMARY
Our clients are recruiting Commissioning Engineers to test, balance and commission building services systems ahead of handover. You will make sure systems perform as designed, safely and efficiently, and that projects complete on time.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan and carry out commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems
• Test, balance and adjust HVAC, ventilation and water systems
• Commission BMS, fire, lighting and power systems
• Prepare commissioning plans, procedures and test records
• Witness and sign off tests with clients and consultants
• Identify, report and resolve system defects
• Compile O&M manuals and commissioning documentation
• Coordinate with installers, designers and the main contractor

IDEAL CANDIDATE
• Proven commissioning experience in building services
• Background in mechanical or electrical engineering
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Excellent documentation and reporting ability
• Comfortable working to tight handover deadlines
• Confident dealing with clients and consultants
• Willing to travel between London sites
• Full right to work in the UK

QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
• HNC/HND or degree in Building Services or Engineering
• CIBSE membership (desirable)
• IEng or CEng, or working towards it (desirable)
• SMSTS or SSSTS
• Valid CSCS card (essential)
• ECS or JIB card where relevant
• 18th Edition BS 7671 (desirable)
• Full UK driving licence (desirable)

KEY SKILLS & TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
• HVAC and ventilation commissioning
• Electrical testing and inspection
• BMS commissioning (Trend, Tridium or similar)
• CIBSE Commissioning Codes and BSRIA guidance
• Test instruments and measurement tools
• Fault-finding and diagnostics
• O&M manual compilation
• Witnessing and client sign-off processes
