MEP Quantity Surveyor

SUMMARY
Our clients are recruiting MEP Quantity Surveyors to manage the commercial side of building services packages. You will control costs, value works and protect margins on mechanical and electrical projects across London.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare and manage MEP cost plans and budgets
• Value MEP works and prepare monthly applications and valuations
• Procure and negotiate MEP subcontract packages
• Assess and agree variations and change orders
• Prepare cost reports and forecasts
• Manage supplier and subcontractor accounts
• Identify cost savings and commercial risks
• Review MEP drawings, specifications and bills of quantities, and agree final accounts

IDEAL CANDIDATE
• Proven MEP commercial management experience in London
• Strong knowledge of M&E systems, materials and installation costs
• Experience on a mix of commercial, residential or hospitality schemes
• Confident negotiator
• Strong analytical and reporting skills
• Comfortable working with design and site teams
• Organised and able to manage multiple packages
• Full right to work in the UK

QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar (essential)
• MRICS or working towards chartership
• Valid CSCS card
• SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable)
• Working knowledge of the Construction Act
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015
• Evidence of ongoing CPD
• Full UK driving licence (desirable)

• MEP measurement and valuation
• JCT and NEC subcontracts
• Mechanical and electrical package pricing
• CostX, Bluebeam or similar take-off tools
• Advanced Excel
• Cost reporting and forecasting
• Tender analysis and procurement
• Final account preparation
